WHAT IS FESTIVAL OF TREES?

DESCRIPTION: A multi-day, multi-event celebration marking the beginning of the Christmas holiday season.  Festival of Trees is presented under the auspices of the Cabochon Community Service Club.

 

PRIMARY PURPOSE:  To create a community event offering residents an opportunity to participate in an annual effort to raise money for selected local charities.

About Us

WHAT IS THE CABOCHON COMMUNITY SERVICE CLUB?

The Cabochon Community Service Club (CCSC) is a 501c(3) nonprofit corporation exempt from Federal income tax under Internal Revenue Code (IRC) Section 170.

The Cabochon Community Service Club purpose is to foster and promote charitable activities and other charitable organizations within the meaning of Section 501(c)3.  It operates as a charitable entity for the welfare of the general public.: affiliates with other tax-exempt organizations that are congruent to its mission: receives contributions and pays them over to organization that are described in Section 501(c)3 and exempt from taxation under 501/a): and carries on other similar activities permitted by its nonprofit status. 

WHO RUNS FESTIVAL OF TREES?

Festival of Trees at Trilogy/Sunstone was created through the collaboration of Trilogy residents.  Randy & Cindy Green and Alec & Sheila Earle are co-chairs of the 2026 event.  Eleven other community members comprise the leadership team including Charlie & Deena Beswick, Paula Byassee & Steve Whitehouse, Ruth & Jerry Erzinger, Bill & Caren Hurley, Vickie Lawrence, Jeff & Deanna Maass.  Other Trilogy community members volunteer to serve in various capacities supporting the events and fundraising efforts.

WHO BENEFITS FROM THE FESTIVAL OF TREES REVENUES?

In 2026 net revenues from all sources (admissions, sponsorships, donations) will be divided equally between St. Judes Ranch for Children and The Animal Foundation.

 

St. Jude’s Ranch for Children is a Boulder City based organization whose mission is transforming the lives of abused and at-risk children, young adults and families by empowering them to create new choices and new hope in a caring community.  St. Jude’s Ranch for Children has no affiliation with St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. Their service include Foster Care Services, Homeless Youth Services, Child Sex Trafficking Services, Support Services, and the Career Opportunity Scholarship Fund.

 

The Animal Foundation is a Las Vegas based organization whose vision is simple: “We want a future where every pet has a home, and every home is empowered to care for them.” Some of their key areas of work include Adoption, Lost & Found, Low-cost Vaccine, Pet Care Assistance, as well as a Pet Resource Center. Over 28,000 animals were assisted in 2025.
